The match of my undoing and other work by Alannah Sears

Images by Alannah Sears |

Alannah Sears is a New York City-based multi-media artist who specialises in drawing. Sears is drawn to themes of self-image, womanhood, societal expectations, and the universality of human connection. Rebellious at heart, she breaks the constraining barriers of the “ideal woman” and finds peace in her figures' folds, warping, and manipulation. Alannah’s radical vulnerability challenges the viewer to confront their deepest selves to feel seen. Alannah Sears has been shown in Brooklyn, Chelsea, Inwood, and has had the pleasure of residence at Joan Mitchell Center, Joan Mitchell Foundation NYC offices, and most recently Vermont Studio Center.
